I've found it's just easier to get stuff sorted and out to the rallymaster ASAP.

At first I was submitting each pic as a separate attachment, which works fine, but ends up creating more work for both the rallymaster and I.

One day I collected 17 bonii and ended up sending multiple emails to get all that stuff to the rallymaster.

Eventually I remembered how to create a zip file, which reduces pic submission time substantially.

So, how do we do this?

Simple, really.

After a day's ride, I create a folder on my computer named for the day, like 'May 6, 2025' or 'June 8, 2025' and download all the day's pics into that folder.

I then sort through those pics, saving the best in a new folder named 'May 6, 2025 submission pics' or 'June 8, 2025 submission pics'.

I crop and resize those pics to a maximum 2000 px width or height size and rename them to meet the town, establishment, and rider number requirements.

After all that I'll have a folder with the correctly sized and named pics ready for submission.

Unfortunately, you can't send that folder to the rallymaster as an attachment.

There's one more step to carry out before you can submit that folder, tho, and that's to create a compressed, or zip, folder which can be attached to the email you send to the rallymaster.

To do that, follow the instructions at the link below...

Too, by compressing the folder, you reduce that folder's overall MB size.

Understand that there are limits to the file/folder size you can send via email.

Gmail is 25 MB, as are Proton and Yahoo.

Outlook is 20 MB.

I've found that I can easily fit a day's submission pics into that compressed folder without a problem.

The most pics I've submitted via a zipped folder is 14, and I had room in that folder to spare.

The rallymaster has said that this method makes it easier for him to log the pics as well, so it's a win-win for everyone involved.

Most of this is stuff I could have done over the winter, but it has been below freezing for 2 months. It was finally above freezing today so I went out and started on it. That table in the back of the garage is full of stuff that needs to go on the bike.

I started with a thermostat gasket and removing the handlebars which are bent. While I'm in there I'm going to grease the steering bearings, but my 3D printer doesn't print anything strong enough to remove that nut so I'm going to have to build a socket because I'm not paying $120 for something I'll probably only use once.

I was going to do tires today, but my bucket of lube is frozen solid.

Chain, sprockets, tires front and rear, I should probably grease the swing arm bushings/bearings, remove gas tank and put bed liner on it, check valves, spark plugs, refill coolant, run power to new GPS, put it all back together again with new handlebars and grips. Carry tools around for about the first three or four rides to make sure I get all the controls back in the right spot. I also need to build a new luggage rack, but that can wait.

There is still two feet of snow everywhere and I don't know how long it's going to be just a couple degrees above freezing, so it's not like I'm going very far anytime soon.

Here are the step by step instructions :-

Sign into your Google Photos account in one browser tab and the GLMC Forum in a second browser tab

In the Google Photos tab

1. click on "create a new album" in top right-hand menu
2. give the new album a name. In this example I used "Upload Test"
3. click on 3 dot menu top right-hand side
4. click on "options"
5. click "link sharing" on
6. turn off the top 4 options, but leave "link sharing" turned on
7. close window (x in top right-hand corner)
8. Once the steps above are completed you can use the same album for all future photo sharing.
9. now click on "add photos" and then click on "select from computer"
10. navigate to the photo you want to upload. In this example, the photo is in a folder called "Test Image Upload"
11. wait for the photo to be uploaded
12. left click on image
13. right click on image and select "copy image address"
    

Now switch to GLMC Forum tab

1. click New Reply
2. click the "add image" icon and paste the link
3. edit link by adding a special tag at the end of the link. The tag is ?0.jpg as in question mark + zero + dot + jpg
4. preview your comment
5. post your comment
