Cool, gives me time to get those heated grips installed. I like to get a few locations in before the snow melts every year.

Install them. Just submitted proposed ride to the club for approval. Idea is for a Feb 1 launch if all goes well.

RE: 2026 Grand Tour General Discussion
It would seem that the Rally Master (or one of his helpers) has left us a cryptic clue on the GLMC Home page.

RE: 2026 Grand Tour General Discussion
No further clues as to the theme for the 2026 Grand Tour, but we do seem to have confirmed dates.
It looks like Lapchik won't be needing his heated grips after all. www.tinyurl.com/myrides88 |

March in Minnesota means highs of 5°C and lows -7°C. Usually 3-6" of snow, too

RE: 2026 Grand Tour General Discussion
Just signed up on Ride Master.
Question: does a location have to appear on one of those two sites, or does it just need to fit the theme? This is not on roadside america (yet), but fits the theme. If I revisit this location and send this in as a proper GT picture, would it count? It's in Clitherall, MN. The orange is something I added to block the town name for the ADVRider photo tag game. I plan to send in anything like this that I find to RA, but they aren't always speedy at publishing it. (link to google street view) My info and shared files - click here |

Question and comment
For a site on Roadside America that list the object in Cincinnati, but is actually in a seperately governed municipality (say Greenhills), would the Greenhills location count as well as a site that is located in the actual boundaries of the City of Cincinnati?
The sentence on page two that precedes the heading of "The Fine Print" appears to be from the 2025 Rules? |

RE: 2026 Grand Tour General Discussion
In the rules there is a quote "acquired a special place in
two-wheeled culture as standalone destination locations to grab a photograph with your two-wheeled vehicle..." Does this indicate my Spyder and Trikes are excluded this year ?? I did not get further in reading the rules than this Willie IBA #32847 - GLMC 439 - 2008 Yamaha FJR - 2015 Spyder RT-S - 2023 Spyder RT-Limited |

I use a simple rule of thumb, John, learned from riding in these GTs and the few road rallies I've ridden in the last few years. Does the place in question have some sort of town government building within its borders, like a village hall, or post office, or police department? According to Google Maps, Greenhills does have a government building. The Greenhills Municipal Building is at 11000 Greenhills Rd., Greenhills, OH. That's how it's listed on the village's website. https://www.greenhillsohio.us/index.php/...nistration For rural stuff, I always go with the post office that delivers the mail to that location. In other words, find the mailing address. If it's a spot with no address, I find out which post office delivers the neighbor's mail. Hope this helps. |

RE: 2026 Grand Tour General Discussion
The location should be listed on one of the sites. If the site makes it to the listing prior to the end of the rally, then it will be included. Although, the pic you sent is outstanding, there is no way to determine whether it is something thrown up on one's front lawn to snag points. To that end, there needs to be a 3rd party (objective) metric to count.
Haven't investigated who controls the municipality. But, if Roadside lists it in Cincy, it's a C. If it is actually in Greenhills, it is a G. Seems like either way, you have this covered. Spyders and trikes are welcomed. The language change was to excluded electric bicycles...which caused some disruption last year. This is sage advice. |

Just an FYI...
I've found more than a few Atlas Obscura GPS locations that are off a little bit. Some by a block or two. Be sure to double check and verify those locations with your favorite mapping software. |
