GLMC

2008 Rally Rider of the year.

Following the success of the 2007 Rider of the Year points chase, we're doing it again.    Here are the details.    We've once again put together a season long points chase that encourages riders to be consistently good over the entire competitive riding season.    To make it even more challenging, we'll be giving out extra points at each event to the rider with the highest efficiency rating.    And now for 2008, we have added two more events.    Sound interesting?    Read on.

POINTS STRUCTURE!

-- Points are available for each of the five GLMC Road events.    The Bonzai, Buffalo and Harvest Rallies are worth a maximum 55 points each.    The Taste Krap Grand Tour is worth a maximum of 50 points and the Popcycle Derby is worth a maximum of 25 points.

-- At the end of each event, the scores will be listed highest to lowest.    First place receives 50 points, second place receives 49 points, third place receives 48 points all the way down to 10 points.    (25 points maximum for the Popcycle Derby).

-- Any rider that finishes the event no matter how low their score will receive 10 points.

-- A rider that starts an event but does not finish (that includes time-barred) will receive 5 points.

-- A rider that enters but is unable to start still receives 1 point.

-- The rider with the highest efficiency (points per mile) receives an additional 5 points.    Rider with second highest efficency recieves 4 points, Third highest recieves 3 points, Fourth highest recieves 2 points, and the rider with the 5th highest efficiency rating recieves 1 additional point.    (Efficiency points will not be issued for the Popcycle or the Grand Tour).

-- Rally Masters will receive 45 points, and volunteers will receive 25 points.    (Volunteers at the Popcycle will recieve 10 points).

-- For the purpose of the Rally Rider of the Year competition, there will be no class structure.    All riders compete in one class.

Need more incentive?    Well if you prepay your entry's it will save you money.    Enter the Grand Tour, and all three Road Rallies for a flat fee of 160 dollars.    The Popcycle is still a stand-alone fee of 10 dollars for those that don't want to ride in February.
