Harvest Road Rally
Pre-Event Letter

We are closing in on the 5th Anniversary of the Harvest Road Rally.    Hopefully we will have some nice fall riding weather.

If you are already signed up great!    If not there is still some time to get those entries in.

At the conclusion of this years rally we will also crown the "GLMC Rally Rider of the Year".    I can't wait to see whose name will be on that awesome looking trophy.

Here is some nitty-gritty on the rally.    The host hotel and starting point will be the Holiday Inn Express in Baxter.    http://www.brainerdhi.com    There are other hotels in the area as well as some campgrounds.    Shoot me an email if you want more info on any of those options.    paul@donahuehd.com

Just like last year the rally will finish at Donahue Harley Davidson in Baxter.    (just across the street from the hotel).

Dinner will be served Saturday night, and there will be a light breakfast available Saturday morning at the hotel.

Nothing is mandatory Friday night, but we will be available at the hotel to check-in riders from 7pm- ?.    Otherwise registration will start Saturday 5am at the Holiday Inn, Riders meeting will start at 6:00am, Official rally start will be at 7:00am or thereabouts ?.

A well-prepared rally participant would want to have detailed maps of MN, ND & WI.    Other good items to have would include an instant Polaroid type camera (many bonuses require a photo for documentation), pens, markers, zip lock bags, did we mention maps?    Digital cameras are fine for personal photos, but will not be accepted for bonus claims.    While there may be some GPS bonus locations, and a GPS may be helpful, it is by no means mandatory .

Loud exhaust is not tolerated.    You are responsible for your own behavior as well as your guests.    Wheelies, stoppies or other dangerous riding will not be tolerated.    Proof of insurance and a valid motorcycle license are required.    For a complete list of the rules visit the GLMC official website at http://www.GLMC.org.    Not reading the rules is not an excuse for failing to follow them.

Class structure as follows:

EXPERT:    These are people with known high mile experience, previous rally winners, and whomever else the Rally Master, deems worthy.

EXPERIENCED:    These are people with any documented previous rally experience.

TWO-UP:    Simple, any bike ridden with two people.

ROOKIE:    This class is for first timers with no previous rally experience.    (The Rally Master also has digression in this class.)
